Questioning the Gospel of Guns

There was an interesting article in the Sunday NY Times:

It is sad to see that we can't have a reasonable debate about what regulations we can put in place to keep guns and ammunition out of the hands of criminals and terrorists and those who should not have weapons.

The law in Chicago banning the sale of handguns was struck down the other day.  Although gun violence is at an all time low there, I think an outright ban was too strict.   We need to balance public safety and what law abiding citizens can own and purchase.
